What a bunch of shitrags!

Well it's only a couple of days till I leave Hong Kong. I really don't know how to feel about that. I love Hong Kong, for the places, the media, pretty much everything. But I also miss my friends and family in Canada. I know I'm gonna miss HK and the people here too... *sigh* oh well :p Joey Yung Concert the night before I leave. ^_^ SWEET!!!! I've been waiting to go to one for ages.. yet every time I come to HK I've either missed it or will miss it because I leave before it starts. That and I haven't come to HK in a long time :p but hey, home soon!!!

The silence of the City
            not the physical.

                        the slightest of whispers
                                        yet there is none
                                                            None that I can grasp
                                        Is this the need for God?

*This is the first thing I've written in a long time... i feel so rusty at it yet this rustiness and unpolished quality is what I personally love about this poem.*

This poem has not been edited as I feel that the roughness adds to the feelings that I have for it. I know that poems such as this can be looked at in many different ways and perhaps is similar to many other poems out there. For me this poem has a few meanings but the primary reason and perhaps inspiration comes from my perception of Society whether it be in Hong Kong or Canada or well pretty much anywhere in the world. I was inspired to write this while looking down towards the more industrial part of Hong Kong in the lower slopes of where I'm currently living. I hear so much noise, the noise of cars and buses, the noise from the people promoting the company they work for and even the noise of speech coming from the swearing bus-rider. Its a noise that carries no meaning, a noise that speaks only of the degeneration of Humanity as commercialism and personal gain become the primary reason for living. The want for the latest gadgets or the newest style in clothing (something that I'm quite guilty of myself.) In this noise I hear nothing and its scary. As if I'm stuck in a dark room with no escape, no one here, no sound, no music, no joy, no passion for living. I'm drawn to believe that because everyone is a part of this commercial monster that no one can save me. During that one moment of staring down towards parts of Hong Kong this is what floods my mind. It brings to me a fear that no one can calm. And then I think, perhaps this is what it means to need God in my life. Perhaps its this silence, this horrible and horrifying silence is what it means to not feel God, not have God in my heart. And so as quickly as this thought comes to mind I write. Not only because its something I want to write but because it's something I feel I must, absolutely need to write. And for those of you who are still reading, I must ask you. Do you feel this too?

5. What did you have for breakfast? I didn't have breakfast... i kinda get sick during breakfast if I eat... it's wierd but I love breakfast foods :p

6. What is your middle name? Hung-Tan... full name is Kevin Hung-Tan Shum 沈鸿庭

7. What is your favorite cuisine? I love food... my favorite cuisine though has to be japanese... mmm sushi... no not my dog, but the food :p

8. What foods do you dislike? There really isn't anything that I've come across that I don't like, it's just a matter of how much I like it :p

9. What is your favorite chip? Sea-salt n Pepper, Sour Cream n Onion depending on when, Anything made by Calbee's... mmm calbee's...

10. What is your favorite CD at the moment? I'm a pirate arrrr matey... :p but my favorite CD currently is Janice's "My Love" and a more nostalgic album thats also tied to be named my favorite is Gigi Leung's "I'll be Loving You":p (both are downloaded... cept I also have the "I'll be loving you" CD bought from about 6-7 years back:p)

11. What kind of car do you drive? A year 2000 Acura 1.6EL Premium Fully Loaded and somewhat modded, I still have a ways to go.

12. What is your favorite sandwich? Butter, Peanut Butter, Strawberry Jam, Phily Cream cheese n Cheddar Cheese Sandwich in a triple decker... hehe that or the Tim Hortons Cream Cheese, Cheddar cheese, tomato Bagel with a bit of salt n a bit of pepper tossed on it.

13. What characteristics do you despise? I don't necessarily despise anyone but I really dislike people who take advantage of others, people who don't have a personality and just kinda does whatever, people who say one thing and does another(Hypocrites), People who push people down to feel good about themselves... and the list goes on...

14. Favorite item of clothing? mmm... I would say that Poet shirt I never did buy... maybe I'll get that when I come back to Canada... If it's something I already have I would say my new V-neck T-shirt(white) with golden glitter of a broken up pic of Mary mother of God, Jesus, n the 3 Wise-men. It's a beautiful shirt and I love it to bits. Some of you may be thinking "Glitter?!?!" well I'll tell you, it's really nice glitter and a really nice shirt, don't go thinking it's "gay"(not that I have anything against people who have that sexual preference) or whatnot, it's the new Fob fashion sense I've acquired :p.

15. If you could go anywhere in the world on vacation, where would you go? Well I would definately want to go to Japan but there are also a lot of other places like Dubai, or Paris, I would love to visit the Pyramids in Egypt or Beijing to see the great wall. Uhm, I'm in HK but it's definately a good vacation place, uhm... I want to visit Edmonton, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore hahaha Bombay India... a lot of places...

16. What color is your bathroom? The one I have at home is white... why does it matter? Does it tell you how I act in certain situations? or perhaps it tells you something about my personality. Oh! I know, it must tell me when my next run-in with a celebrity will be! (for those who can't tell I'm being sarcastic :p)

17. Favorite brand of clothing? I'm not too brand-savvy, I just go for whatever I think looks good or is nice. Of course lately I've started liking Bape, and previously and currently I like Emporio Armani. Lately though my clothes are mostly japanese haha

18. Where would you want to retire to? I think that I'd buy a barn and design a house somewhere where theres open land, and beautiful snowy winters. I would love to sit at the fireplace with a nice glass of Apple Cider perhaps with a bit of rum, a box of chocolates, a book and a wife to lean her head on my shoulder while the 2 of us are underneath a fleece blanket... I know, I'm a sap :p but I'm damn proud of it :p

19. Favorite time of day? Well the most beautiful are when the sun rises and the sun sets, I enjoy the nighttime too... hmm... although quite often I'm not able to wake up in time but my favorite time of day has to be around 7:30 am.

20. Favorite sport to watch? Well I love Soccer n Baseball... oooh soccer baseball :p thats fun to watch too. I also like to watch Tennis and figure skating. Basketball is also pretty fun to watch ^_^

23. What type of detergent do you use? I like the kind that smells really nice :p like a nice sunny spring morning when the dew is still on the grass. Ah, the beauty of springtime...

24. Coke or Pepsi? I love coke, but I've cut down quite a bit. I like Jasmine Tea :p

25. Are you a morning person or night owl? I'm a nightowl though I wish I could be more a morning person as I really love the morning time. The air is fresh and he temperature a little lower... perfect time ^_^

26. What size shoe do you wear? between 12.5 and 13 depending on the shoe. On the topic of shoes, I saw these really nice Bape shoes... and that pair of Brown LV styled pair of Converse's... mind you there were also these orange Adida's that I'm loving... oh! the wonderful shoes here... the orange adida's match the Nederlands Tee n Sports Jacket that I want too...

27. Do you have any pets? Yes, a pet that I miss quite terribly. He's an apricot Toy Poodle by the name of Sushi. He's the absolute most adorable, cute, loyal, loving, wonderful, softest, and most perfect dog in the whole wide world.
